The VAT in Spain is divided into the two following concepts:-
When a company pays for a service or goods that are required for it´s benefit and development it must obtain an invoice from the supplier stating the VAT, the C.I.F., and name and address of the company. Only if these invoices are correctly detailed can they enter through the company accounts and constitute part of the VAT quarterly tax declaration, signed and submitted by the company.

The same applies to services or goods offered by the company:-  an invoice must be issued to the client stating their name and address, C.I.F. of the company and the amount of VAT charged.

At the end of the quarter the economic representation and the administration of the company must meet to calculate the VAT payment to be submitted to the tax authorities.  If the VAT received by the company is greater than it payed out then this amount is paid to the tax authorities.  However, if the figure paid out is greater than it recieved then this amount is paid to the company by the Government at the end of the financial year, therefore for the remaining quarters of that financial year this figure will qualify as a credit which can be used in the following quarterly calculations.

Finally a summary of these calculations has to be presented in the form of model 390, which must be submitted before the end of January of the following year-

Mr. Ruiz Castillo is currently providing these services to over twenty satisfied companies and will be pleased to provide these services to you company.

When a company is constituted and after it has been inscribed and accepted by the Company House, corresponding to the local area of the company, this will be the start of certain tax related legal obligations which have to be presented every three months:-

A company must present each quarter:-
1.  retentions as illustrated in model 110.
2.  value added tax (I.V.A.), as presented in model 303.

At the end of each quarter model 303 has to be presented reflecting the VAT activity of the company.
Senor Castillo’s fluency in English has made this process a lot simpler. He was generous in taking his time to explain the process which clarified matters a lot. He also takes the time to keep us regularly updated. I would highly recommend him.
