LEGALIZATION THE THE ACCOUNT BOOKS
Spanish Company Law Legislation states that you ar obliged to present legal account books once a year. This must be done before the last day of March of the following year of the accounts. Never the less, I always present these books during January, in order to avoid the long waiting lists in the provincial Company Houses at the end of March.
Two sets of books are required to be presented and legalized.
1. LIBRO DIARIO: where all the movements of the company accounts are compiled and included.
2. LIBRO INVENTARIO and CUENTAS ANUALES. This book is divided into three sections: Balance de Sumas y Saldos, Balance de Situacion and Cuenta de Perdidas
y Ganancias. These are three different ways of obtaining clarification of the information included in the Company Accounts.
A memoria or memorandum is normally attached to these account books.
These books will be presented on behalf of the Company to be assessed and legalized in the Company House that corresponds to the location of the Company.
